Grayscale associated wallets purchased and staked over 510,000 HYPE tokens, worth approximately 24.95 million USD
According to on-chain analysis firm Lookonchain's tracking data, two wallets associated with Grayscale purchased and immediately staked 510,387 HYPE tokens, with a total value of approximately $24.95 million.
This move comes as Grayscale advances its HYPE spot investment product, having submitted an initial S-1 registration statement in January 2026 and amended the documents on May 11 to include direct network staking provisions, intending to list on Nasdaq under the ticker HYPG.
Coinbase Custody is responsible for the security of the underlying tokens, while BNY Mellon provides administrative and operational support. The large-scale institutional purchases and locked staking have reduced the circulating supply in the market, pushing the HYPE spot price toward a historical high around May 20. The eventual listing of the product still depends on the approval results from federal securities regulators.
